The Reef is arguably one of the most popular bars in Adams Morgan. The downstairs is a tiny dim lit room, mostly used as a waiting area to get into the upstairs area.
The upper level has a large circular bar in the center of the room, surrounded by booths that are separate by massive saltwater fishtanks. They also do an excellent job of limiting the # of people in the bar, so you're never too packed in.
On the roof is a small patio and bar where you can enjoy the summer weather. It's hard to get seating, but worth it if you go early.
Overall, highly recommended.
