This is my favorite place in the U-Street area. The bar is apparently owned by the same people who own 18th Street Lounge (Thievery Incoporated), so you can expect a cool atmosphere.
The downstairs has a large bar area, and two rooms that are kind of broken off into a dining area and a normal bar area.
Heading upstairs, you'd swear you were at a house party in college. A narrow staircase leads to a big open room where people mingle in tight quarters.
The coolest feature, in my opinion, is the rooftop deck upstairs. It is one of the larger decks I've seen in DC, and even has space heaters to keep it usable in the cooler months.
I'll definitely be going back here.
