Holiday Bus Trip to New York City

12/16/2006
There is no better place in the world to experience the holiday season than in New York City where the holiday spirit comes alive! Instead of buying gifts at the local mall, why not walk along Fifth Avenue and shop in some of the finest stores in the world? You can also check out the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, enjoy the breathtaking view from top of the Empire State Building, or take in an art show at a local gallery.

You can do all this and a lot more as TTD invites you on a day long bus trip to the Big Apple for holiday shopping, tours, an optional show.

Itinerary:

1) We depart from Grovesnor Metro Center promptly at 7:15 am (we cannot give you a refund if you arrive late, so please plan accordingly)

2) Noon: We expect to arrive in New York City at noon. Our first stop is Rockefeller Center where we take in the beauty of the world famous gigantic Christmas tree or go ice skating on their famous rink beneath the tree.

3) Optional lunch: An optional lunch will be arranged upon arrival, at your own expense.

4) Shopping on 5th Avenue - or free time: Take a few hours and check out Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany's, Trump Tower, the NBA Store, and much more as you shop for your holiday presents! Or take a trip to midtown and check out the Empire State Building or the United Nations. Maybe you want to venture further South and check out the art galleries of Soho. The truly daring can go to Battery Park and take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty (All of these activities are at your own expense).

5) 2:30 p.m.: Optional NBC Studios Tour (included in the price). Ever wonder what happens on the other side of the tube? Since 1933, NBC has been guiding visitors on a behind the scenes look at its New York operations. The hour-long tour takes in some of the world's most famous sets including The Today Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Saturday Night Live, and more! If we’re lucky, we may even may catch a glimpse of a show in production or run into a famous NBC personality. Our tour guide might be a celebrity in the making as Michael Eisner, Steve Allen, Kate Jackson, Regis Philbin, Ted Koppel, Marcy Carsey, Dave Garroway and Willard Scott were all NBC Pages in their early days. The last stop on the studio tour is the HDTV Theater, which features a 130º screen spanning two floors and three custom projectors showing a continuous presentation of NBC.
